The first of a series of storms whisked quickly through the inland valleys Wednesday night and Thursday, leaving more than a quarter of an inch of rainfall in some locations.
As reported in our earlier story, mostly light rain began falling shortly before midnight, and continued through the 10am hour locally, and into the afternoon hours in some locations (most notably Moreno Valley).
The rain was heaviest in the San Jacinto Valley, where WeatherCurrents stations in San Jacinto and Hemet recorded 0.30" and 0.29", respectively. Monty Parrot in East San Jacinto reported 0.26".
Other communities with significant totals were Perris and Moreno Valley(0.27"), Temecula Valley Wine Country (0.27" - thanks to Jim Sappington), De Luz (0.25"), Menifee (0.23"), Riverside (0.23"), Fallbrook (0.22"), and Temecula (0.21").
Wildomar and Murrieta recorded the least amounts, at 0.15" and 0.14", respectively. Lake Elsinore and French Valley each recorded 0.18".
